SPROCKETS
Maxtran® sprockets are precision machined for the most demanding chain drive applications. These sprockets match the exact pitch of their comparable ANSI and ISO single pitch and double pitch chains. In order to transfer power between rotating shafts, roller chains are engaged by a central bore, or hole, on roller chain sprockets and idlers. Roller chain sprockets with fixed bores are ready for installation, with a finished bore that has been machined to a predetermined diameter. The starting bore of plain-bore roller chain sprockets can be manufactured to the exact size of the shaft. In order to install to the driving shaft and adjust the bore to the shaft size, bushes are required for bushed-bore roller chain sprockets. Idler sprockets hold the chain in place, adjust its direction, and keep it taut while positioning it away from obstructions.
