V-Rings
Three common v-ring styles are available from Maxtran. The VA, VL, and VS are the three available styles. A v-ring is a type of rubber seal that is mounted directly on a shaft and forms an axial seal against the metal case or housing of the shaft seal. Unlike a shaft seal, a v-ring will spin with the shaft once it is inserted in an assembly. V-rings are frequently utilized in applications as slingers or deflectors since they revolve with the shaft. The revolving vring's centrifugal forces will divert any impurities, such as sand, oil, or dirt, away from the application's sealing point. The v-ring is entirely elastic due to its 100% rubber construction, in contrast to a shaft seal. V-rings may be placed into the majority of applications without requiring the disassembly of any components that might otherwise need to be taken out in order to install a normal seal because they are elastic. Additionally, unlike ordinary shaft seals, which only function on a single shaft diameter, v-rings are applicable to a variety of shaft sizes.
