V-Belt Pulleys
When paired with a suitable v-belt, pulleys offered by Maxtran are used to transfer mechanical rotating power to a shaft. In addition to preventing slippage and misalignment, a V-belt pulley's V-shaped grooves maximize torque and friction in a drive system. They are used in a wide range of rotating mechanical power applications, including conveyors, pumps, fans, and air compressors. The two most popular varieties of v-belt pulleys are Bushed Bore and Fixed-Bore pulleys, both of which are manufactured and stocked by Maxtran. Die-cast V-belt pulleys with fixed bores feature a finished bore, or center hole, that is machined to a predetermined diameter so that a shaft of the same size can be inserted. With machined keyways and/or set screws to secure the shaft and stop slippage, they are ready to be installed. Cast-iron bushed-bore In order to install to the driving shaft and adjust the bore, or center hole, to the shaft size, V-belt pulleys require a bushing. Cast iron, which is used in its construction, absorbs heat and has good wear resistance. Maxtran offers all possible shaft sizes for both light-duty applications (like fans and blowers in HVAC systems) and rotating mechanical power applications (like fans, pumps, air compressors, and conveyors) between these kinds of pulleys.
