Back-Up Rings

The O-ring is supported and supplemented by backup rings. They serve as a supporting component in radially sealing ISC O-rings to stop gap extrusion. Back seals shield O-rings from harm by extending their use to other shapes. Back-up rings, which are frequently used in conjunction with O-rings, provide an exceptionally high level of protection against damage because they lack a sealing function of their own. For instance, to reliably reduce the sealing gap on the side facing away from the pressure in order to prevent gap extrusion of radially sealing ISC O-rings.
