Master Links

Individual links are added to an existing chain to expand its length or replace damaged links, such as ANSI standard roller chain links. When adding or deleting links, connecting links—also referred to as master links—are required. These roller chain links must be replaced by links of an appropriate ANSI/ASME roller chain, even though they comply with ANSI/ASME manufacturing criteria. Roller chains can be joined, adjusted, and repaired with the help of these ANSI standard connecting links, also known as connecting links. A detachable side plate, secured with a cotter pin or spring clip, enables the link to connect chain ends. For chains size 60 or smaller, connecting links with spring clips are usually used with chains smaller than size 80, for larger sizes cotter pins are utilized.
