Carbide Reamers

To ensure a precise fit when installing fasteners or other parts in metalworking tasks, reamers enlarge, smooth, or contour an existing hole in a workpiece. Using a tap wrench, adjustable wrench, or vise, hand reamers are manually operated. Chucking reamers, sometimes referred to as machine reamers, are used in conjunction with a screw machine, drill press, lathe, or other comparable machining instrument. Applications requiring low levels of precision are best suited for bridge reamers, which are made to work on structural materials like steel or iron. Adjustable reamers can ream holes of varying sizes because their nuts and blades can be adjusted. When the cutting head of an expansion reamer wears, it can be reground to its original size thanks to an adjustment screw.
