MILLING & CUTTING TOOLS
Milling is a type of machining where material is removed from a piece of stock's surface using a revolving milling tool. This procedure produces parts with a variety of features and forms, including slots and pockets. Milling duties are carried out by installing milling tools on a CNC (computer numerical control) or manually operated milling machine. Parts with intricate shapes and profiles are made with end mills, which have cutting edges on both the nose and sides. On parts, engraving tools cut out drawings, characters, and numbers. Cutting heads or indexable inserts can be swapped out for new ones in indexable and exchangeable-head tools. With the use of their teeth, milling cutters may cut through materials to produce intricately shaped and detailed pieces. The tapered sides of mold and die milling tools are used to create molds and dies. Plunge and profile cuts can be made in wood, composites, plastic, and solid metal using solid router bits.
