Jaw Coupling Hubs

Set screws or keyways are used to secure General Purpose Straight Jaw Coupling Hubs to motor and equipment shafts. A suitable straight jaw spider locks two couplings of the same size together. The coupling size identification indicates which hubs from different brands can be used in place of this one. Jaw coupling hubs in sizes L035 through L225 are available from Maxtran in fixed bore, keyed, and plain bore designs. For the majority of industrial applications, such as stepper or servo motor applications where precise motion control is required, straight jaw coupling hubs are appropriate. Our jaw coupling hubs have several important properties, such as being fail-safe—that is, they won't fail if the elastomer spider fails—not having any metal-to-metal contact, and being resistant to grease, oil, dirt, sand, and moisture. More than 850 combinations of bore sizes, ranging from.125 inches (4.45mm) to 7 inches (178mm), are available in stock.
