Nipples
In multipurpose hose assemblies, hoses and pipe with the same thread size are connected by utility combination nipples. On one end of these short fittings are different kinds of connections, and on the other end are raised ridges, also called barbs, that grip the interior of hoses to secure them. To provide a leak-proof seal, they are fastened using a clamp. They are appropriate for light-duty suction or low-pressure discharge of water and other liquids, among other low-pressure uses in the food and beverage, maritime, and chemical processing sectors.
