Kevlar® Wedge V-Belts [3VK-5VK-8VK]

Compared to regular belts, heavy-duty Kevlar wedge V-belts are designed to be stronger and last longer. Standard belts are usually composed of polyester cords, however Kevlar belts are made of Kevlar cords, which are more resilient to wear and tear. Wedge High-load and high-pulsating load situations are among the harshest conditions that Kevlar V-belts are designed to withstand. They are distinguished by the "K" at the end of their names, and they have the same nominal width and thickness as rubber wedge v-belts. For instance, 3LK, 4LK, and 5LK. Additionally, Kevlar V-belts are capable of easily supporting extremely high horsepower. Using a machine with a backside idler, for instance, will cause belts to wear out more quickly. On the other hand, Kevlar belts are designed to endure these circumstances and will be more durable on these devices. Standard V-belts made of polyester cord are rated for lower tensile strength than Kevlar belts. Thus, in harsh conditions like the one described above, Kevlar belts will reduce the stretch. Additionally, Kevlar belts require fewer replacements and have a longer lifespan. The ability to withstand reverse bending and twisting is another advantage of Kevlar belts, which will help them outlast conventional belts.
