Superior flexing and the controlled grip of raw edge sidewalls are combined with the characteristics of a banded belt in Maxtran's Banded Wedge Cog belt sizes 3VX and 5VX. Designed to reduce belt whip and drive turnover, wedge cog banded v-belts offer exceptional resilience to heat, grease, and hard conditions. It is the best option for applications requiring more horsepower or speed or those involving exceptionally high shock loads. Because the strengthened band keeps the belt from toppling over or jumping off the drive, it significantly improves stability when two or more separate v-belts are joined. Belt whip and rollover on long center distance drives are minimized by precision-molded cogs, which also increase belt flex and reduce bending stress. Because raw edge sidewalls have a greater coefficient of friction, they perform better and are more efficient.
