Spherical Roller Bearings

Heavy radial loads are supported by spherical roller bearings in applications where shaft bending from high shock loads and misalignment are common. They feature both single and double rows of rollers, and because each roller has a small curvature in its profile, they are less likely than cylindrical roller bearings to misalign on the shaft. Maxtran provides choices for both straight and tapered bores in all shaft diameters.  These bearings are usually installed in a split plummer block to minimize shaft misalignment and are utilized in heavy-duty applications.  The outer race of the majority of spherical bearings has the W33 lubricating characteristic. Although there are C0, C2, and C4 choices, the most popular design has C3 clearance.
