Roller Bearings
Higher loads can be tolerated by roller bearings than by ball bearings because they use cylindrical rolling elements with a greater contact surface with the bearing raceway, which more evenly distributes load. Bearings with cylindrical rollers can withstand high impact and radial stresses. In applications where misalignment and shaft deflection are common, spherical roller bearings can withstand large radial loads. For applications where radial space is restricted, needle roller bearings provide a narrow profile. Tapered roller bearings are capable of supporting large thrust, axial, or radial loads.
