Pillow Block Bearings

Solid block assemblies called pillow block bearings are made out of an insert bearing that is press-fit into the appropriate housing.  With optional zerk fittings for relubrication, they are already oiled.  These bearings are mounted to surfaces that enable smooth shaft rotation while the base bears the weight using base threaded bolts. The bearing's base attaches to a surface that is parallel to the shaft it supports. These pillow block bearings' ball-shaped rolling components, known as bearing inserts, have a little surface area that comes into contact with the bearing raceway, lowering friction.  Ball bearings have a lesser load capacity than roller bearings but may operate at faster speeds due to their reduced friction. While the base bears the weight, the shaft may move smoothly thanks to pillow block bearings.  Maxtran provides a variety of pillow block bearing alternatives, such as corrosion-free units, take-up units, hanger units, tapped base units, and general-purpose 2-bolt base units.  Light and medium duty are the terms used to describe these enclosed bearings.
