CHAIN
In order to transfer power between rotating shafts, roller chains are made up of a series of overlapping links with intersecting rollers that contact with the teeth of a suitable sprocket. Since they won't slip or wear like belts do, they offer a more accurate and controlled drive mechanism. ANSI/ASME manufacturing criteria are met by ANSI standard roller chains. British standard roller chains are manufactured in accordance with DIN 8187, British Standard (BS 228), and International Standards Organization metric dimensions (ISO 606). Over longer distances, conveyor roller chains move items at low to moderate speeds. Leaf chains are appropriate for low-speed pulling, lifting, and balancing large loads. They mount onto flat face pulleys rather than sprockets. In conveying applications, plastic roller chains avoid product scratches and don't need to be lubricated.
